Socastee Heritage Festival 2026

It has come to our attention that false information has been circulating about the Socastee Heritage Foundation and the Socastee Heritage Festival. While we have tried to take the high road and not reply to this information, it has become clear that we must respond. Please know that we are aware of this situation and are taking the appropriate steps to address it & to have this stopped. 

If you come across any negative or inaccurate information about the Foundation, its board members, or the festival, or if you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly. We are more than willing to have open and respectful conversations to provide accurate information.

In April 2025, the Board made the difficult decision to remove a board member due to violations of the Foundation’s bylaws and other internal matters, which we will not discuss publicly. Since that time, we have appointed a new board member to oversee the festival and welcomed two additional board members, bringing the total to ten at that time. Another board member was removed shortly after and one board member stepped down for personal reasons. We also look forward to continued growth of our board in the future.

The Socastee Heritage Foundation is a legally recognized 501(c) organization and is in full compliance with all federal and state regulations. We are moving forward with a renewed vision and direction, with a strong focus on giving back to the Socastee community, as we have proudly done in years past.

We are excited to continue our mission and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events, including the Socastee Heritage Festival on April 11.
